Primary
School
Located in the heart of our community, Uthando Primary School is a nurturing, values-based learning environment where every child matters. Since officially opening its doors on August 1, 1992, as the first educational institution in the Jukulyn area, our school has been dedicated to empowering young minds. We were founded under the leadership of the late Mr. K.C. Ndalane and began with a remarkable enrollment of 5,000 learners and 65 teachers. Today, with a strong reputation for academic excellence and extracurricular involvement, we continue to uphold our core values of love, integrity, discipline, excellence, and respect.
Our mission is to provide a sound education program in an orderly learning and teaching environment, ensuring a relevant and balanced curriculum that develops each child intellectually, personally, emotionally, and morally. With a current enrollment of 1,400 learners and a dedicated team of 36 educators, we are proud to continue our legacy of service to the community.
OUR
HISTORY
Uthando
Primary School
Uthando Primary School was founded with a passion for empowering young minds through love, knowledge, and faith. We have proudly served our community for over years.
The school officially opened its doors on 1 August 1992 and was the first educational institution established in the Jukulyn area. It was founded under the leadership of the late Mr K.C. Ndalane, who served as the school’s first principal. At the time of its opening, the school had a remarkable enrolment of approximately 5,000 learners and a dedicated staff of 65 teachers.
Due to the high enrolment numbers, the school operated under a platooning system until 1999, where one group of learners attended in the morning and another in the afternoon. This system was phased out following the opening of nearby schools including Raikana, St Francis, and Seetsa sa Kgwedi, which helped ease the learner load.
